Critical thinking is recognized as an essential skill for the wise social education of an individual in an Islamic society. In this regard, the present research has investigated the position and importance of critical thinking from the perspective of the Qur'an and Imam Ali, using a descriptive-analytical method. The results have shown that, in the Islamic worldview, thought is the basic element of individual and social life, as well as reasoning along with thoughtfulness, patience and study, piety of presence, questioning, situational assessment, insight and insight, avoiding prejudice are the characteristics of critical thinking from the perspective of Imam Ali. Cultivation, teaching wisdom, negotiation, model method are the most important educational methods based on cultivating critical thinking. Expanding the culture of research, seeking solutions and efforts to discover the truth, exploration and scholarship, encouraging the constant study of knowledge, justice, respect for the opinions and thoughts of others as an open and developed mental assessment, and moral education are among the most important educational consequences of critical thinking from Imam Ali's point of view.
