In workplaces, whether they belong to private or public institutions, one encounters people operating in various positions, providing services and working. The relationship that some of them are subject to already includes working dependently for a fee under certain conditions and within the scope of private law; Some of them (only in the public sector) involve working in a manner subject to public law and involving dependency and remuneration. It is observed that some of them either only aim to learn the job and profession theoretically and practically, or they engage in activities to see the practice of an art or profession they already have theoretical knowledge about and to reinforce their knowledge. It can be said that this last group describes people called apprentices (and trainees). This study specifically focuses on the legal position of apprentices in terms of occupational health and safety, individual labor law, union law, collective bargaining, strike/lockout situation and social security law., Whether is a private or public institution, operating, serving, laboring people in different positions are met in workplaces. When some of them has a relation to labor dependently in determined conditions within the scope of private law for a wage, some (only in public sector) has a dependent laboring relation for a wage bound to public law.On the other hand, it is seen that when some of them labors aiming to learn the job and profession in theory and practice, others aiming to see the practice and reinforce their knowledge on the craft or profession which is already possessed theoretically. It can be said that this last group is told to be an apprentice (or intern). Therefore, this study is directed to apprentices' legal status according to occupational health and safety, private labor law, trade unions law, collective bargaining law, social security law and against the strike/lockouts.
