Notes Praise be to God whose existence is necessary, whose counterpart is impossible, other than Him and others are possible, who willingly issues both evil and good, and blessings be upon Muhammad, through whom his prohibitions and commands spread. As for what follows, the book of Sheikh Imam, the role model of the steadfast wise men, Atheer al-Din al-Abhari - may God bless his soul, and make Paradise his abode - is famous for its Isagogi. When it was difficult for some of the brothers, and for others it was easy, I wrote papers by requesting them to remove its difficulty and make it easy, and God is the best of facilitators and conciliators. Isagoji said: The indicative word indicates what was assigned to it by correspondence, its part by implication if it has a part, and what is associated with it in the mind by adherence, like a human being. It refers to the speaking animal by correspondence, to one of them by implication, and to the subject of knowledge and the art of writing by adherence. I say: I know that logicians have terminology that must be invoked by anyone who is just starting out in any of the sciences, including: isagogi, which is a Greek word that means the five universals, which are: genus, kind, separation, specificity, and general presentation. Knowing these terms depends on clarifying the three connotations: correspondence, implication, and commitment. The parts of the word and connotation are the being of a thing in a state by which knowledge requires knowledge of something else. The first is the signifier, and the second is the signified. From this I learned that evidence is that which Knowledge of it necessitates knowledge of something else, and you also knew that the signified is what knowledge of something else necessitates knowledge of.... Among them is poetry, which is an analogy composed of premises from which the soul expands or contracts, just as it is said that wine is a liquid ruby, and the soul expands and desires to drink it, and if honey is kissed once frighteningly, the soul contracts and refrains from eating it. Among them is the fallacy, which is an analogy made up of false premises that bear out the truth or the well-known, or made up of false, fictitious premises similar to the truth or the well-known, or made up of false, fictitious premises. The error is either from the aspect of the image, or from the aspect of meaning. As for what is from the aspect of the image, such as our saying - of the image of a horse engraved on the wall -: It is a horse, and every horse is a fag. It turns out that this image is a blur, and as for what it is in terms of meaning; So our saying: Every human and every horse is a human, and every human and every horse is a horse, results in the fact that some humans are horses. Know that what is relied upon and relied upon from these measurements is: Rather, it is the proof that it is composed of certain premises, and let this be the last thing we wanted in these papers...
