And Aaron, peace be upon them, and know that if it had not been good, I would not have chosen it for myself, and you know that I chose it, and the man who came from the furthest part of the city did not know that he was following them. And when he said to them: Follow the messengers, it is as if they were prevented from being messengers, so he descended a degree and said: (Follow those who do not ask you for a reward), meaning: a reward. Because people in this world will follow the path of righteousness, and if the path has evidence, it must be followed, and not listening to the evidence is not good except in one of two cases: either to seek evidence for a reward, or not to rely on its guidance and knowledge of the path, but these do not ask for a reward (and they are guided) knowing the straight path that leads to the truth, so let them not be messengers, are they not guided? So they followed them, and the Almighty’s saying: (And what is the matter with me that I do not worship Him who created me?) Its origin is: And what is the matter with you that you do not worship? But He diverted the talk from it so that the statement would be more quickly accepted, as He wanted for them what He wanted for Himself, and what is meant is: rebuking them for abandoning the worship of their Creator to worship others, and for that reason He said: (And to Him you will be returned) without and to Him I return an exaggeration in the threat, and in turning away from quarreling with the people to the state of oneself there is wisdom, which is that if he said: What is the matter with you? Do you worship the One who created you? There was no explanation like the Almighty’s saying: Because when he said: I have nothing to do with anyone’s condition, everyone knew that he would not ask anyone for the reason and its explanation. Because he knows the condition of himself, and his saying (He who created me) indicates the existence of the requirement, because his saying: (I have nothing to do with) is an indication of the absence of an obstacle, and when there is an absence of an obstacle, the action does not exist unless the requirement exists. So his saying (He who created me) is evidence of the requirement, for the Creator is initially the owner, and the owner is obliged to be honored and glorified by the possessed, and he is blessed with faith. It is advisable to present what is required, because what was required for its appearance was without explanation, so nothing less than presenting what is more deserving of explanation due to the need for it....(So take My servants.) That is: the children of Israel whom We have sent you to make happy by rescuing them from those who oppress them, and emptying them to worship Me. And the Almighty’s saying: (Night) is in the accusative case, and Al-Isra means the journey of the night, so he mentioned the night in confirmation other than the word, but He only commanded him to walk in the night because it occurred. For the Copts, the death of the firstborn at night, so Moses, peace be upon him, ordered his people to go out at that time for fear that he would die with the Copts, and when God Almighty knew that if they delayed until dawn came and death lifted them, they would prevent them from going out, and if they delayed until the end of the night, they would overtake them before reaching the sea and kill them, he explained this matter by saying that he confirmed it, because the condition of the Copts when he ordered them to go out was the condition of one who does not believe him to refer back to his saying: (You are being followed), meaning: They are wanted with the utmost effort by your enemy, so do not be deceived by what they are in when they order you to leave out of fear of your staying among them, and their request for you to leave them because of the occurrence of death that is occurring among them, for hearts are in the hand of God Almighty. He hardens the heart of Pharaoh after seeing these signs when death rises from them and they finish burying their dead, so he asks you for what I planned in the past due to your policy of drowning them all, so that my glory may be revealed thereby, and I will raise the terror of you. Defend them, for I know that you have no strength or energy, so he did not assign you to undertake any of their affairs. Nafi’ and Ibn Katheer Fasir recited by connecting the hamza after the fa, and the rest by cutting it... (And leave the sea) meaning: If you march with them and the enemy follows you and you reach it, and we command you to strike it so that it will open for you to enter into it and you enter and are saved... (They are drowned soldiers) meaning: they are capable of this description, even if they have the description of strength and the gathering that is their station. Help requires progress in matters, and when God Almighty told about their sinking, He told about their lagging behind in His Almighty’s saying: (How much they left behind), meaning: a lot.
