In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful, and in Him we seek help, O You who has enabled us to realize the Islamic beliefs and protect us from imitation in the principles and branches of theology. May God’s prayers and peace be upon our master Muhammad, the supporter of the proofs and proofs, praised with the gleams of the sword and the teeth, and upon his eminent family and companions, who are heralded with entry and eternity in Paradise, and after: Then he who is in need of the pardon of his rich Lord, Muhammad ibn Asaad Al-Dawani, may God grant him possession of the cornerstones of wishes: The beliefs Al-Addiya did not leave a foundation of the foundations of religious beliefs without fulfilling it, and did not leave any of its foundations and important issues without making it clear or alluding to it. I have not seen an explanation of it that reveals its purposes and simplifies its benefits. Rather, I have not seen anything of it that would be considered an explanation, since everything that came to me of that is inaccurate and wounded. That prompted me to explain it comprehensively in resolving the complexities, sufficient in achieving the purposes, clarifying the pitfalls, and detailing the meaning of the matter. The straits, and I did not indulge in gossip, as is the custom of debaters... Rather, I followed the clear truth, even if it contradicted what was known, and I took what was based on the evidence, even if it was not helped by the statements of the public. The author, may God have mercy on him, said: (The Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said) He is a human being sent by God Almighty to the creation to convey what He revealed to him.... (May God Almighty make you steadfast in these correct beliefs) which were detailed above. (And grant you success in doing what He loves and is pleased with) And in some versions: And may God grant you success in doing what pleases Him. It was said: Tawfiq, according to Al-Ash’ari and most of his companions, is the creation of the ability to obey, and the Imam of the Two Holy Mosques said: It is the creation of obedience. I said: What is apparent is what the Imam said, for the ability to obey is achieved in every accountable person. Oh God, unless what is meant is the influential ability that is close to obedience, which is with the action; His doctrine is that power is with action, which is what some later scholars have known: making causes compatible. Oh God, make our hearts firm in your religion, and guide us to good deeds. {Our Lord, do not let our hearts deviate after You have guided us, and grant us mercy from You. Indeed, You are the Giver.}
