Notes
Praise be to God who singled out His Prophet Muhammad, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, with companions like the stars, and made it obligatory for everyone to venerate them and believe in the truth of what they were based on the truths of knowledge and science that they bestowed upon him. I bear witness that there is no god but God, alone, with no partner, a testimony that he included in their organized path, and I bear witness that our Master Muhammad is His servant and Messenger, whom He loved with His hidden secret, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him and his family and companions, with eternal blessings and peace, eternally living and subsisting. As for what follows: I was asked in the past about writing a book explaining the truth of the caliphate of Al-Siddiq, and the leadership of Ibn Al-Khattab, and I answered that quickly in serving this eminent person, and he came, thanks to God Almighty, as a nice model, an honorable approach, and an honorable path. Then I was asked in the past about reciting it in Ramadan in the year nine hundred and fifty in the Sacred Mosque; Due to the large number of Shiites, Rafidites, and the like now in Mecca, the most honorable land of Islam, I responded to that, hoping to guide some of those who had strayed from the clearest paths. Then I had the opportunity to add to it many times more, and explain the truth of the succession of the four imams and their virtues, and what follows from that which befits his leaders and those who follow him. So he came out with a book full of his art, a request for sobriety and investigation, a gentleman, and a conclusive scholar. For the arguments of the invalid and the necks of the evil misguided innovators. Because of what it contains of rational proofs and clear, refined, narrational evidence, which scholars understand, and no one denies except those who deny God’s verses, we seek refuge in God from their conditions, and we ask Him to be safe from the ugliness of their words and actions. He is the Generous, Generous, Compassionate, and Merciful. It is arranged into three introductions, ten chapters, and a conclusion. The first introduction is that I know that the one who called me to write this book is in that, even if I fall short of the facts, there is what Al-Khatib Al-Baghdadi reported in Al-Jami’ and elsewhere that he, peace and blessings be upon him, said (If temptations appear or he says heresies and curse my companions, let the scholar reveal his knowledge. Whoever does not do that, the curse of God, the angels, and all of the people will be upon him. He will not be accepted for righteousness or justice)... on the authority of Rabah bin Ubaidah, who said that Omar bin Abdul-Aziz and Sheikh went out to prayer and a sheikh. He was leaning on his hand, so I said to myself, “This sheikh is dry.” When he prayed and entered, I followed him and said, “May God make the prince better than the sheikh who was leaning on your hand?” He said: O Rabah, have you seen him? I said: Yes. He said: I do not consider you to be anything but a righteous man. That is my brother Al-Khidr. He came to me and informed me that I would ask about the affairs of this nation and that I would be fair in it. May God have mercy on him and be pleased with him. And I ask God, the Most Gracious, the Bestower, to surround me with His righteous servants, His loyal friends, those who know Him, His close loved ones, and to cause me to die in His love, and to gather me in their group, and to grant me His pleasure and love, and to make me among the calm and guided ones from the imams of Ahl al-Sunnah wal-Jama’ah, the scholars, the wise, the gentlemen, the working leaders. He is the most generous, the most generous, the most merciful, the most merciful. Their supplication in it is Glory be to You, O God, and their greeting in it is peace, and their last supplication is that Praise be to God, Lord of the worlds, Glory be to your Lord, Lord. Glory be to Him above what they describe, and peace be upon the messengers, and praise be to God, Lord of the Worlds....
