Although, according to the title, the author has arranged the names in alphabet order, this order is not regularly followed. Perhaps the leaves of the ms. have they been inverted, especially in the part of the volume between folios 20 and 92. On fol. 92 v° begins the section entitled مسند من يعرف بالكنّى; on fol. 112 v° there is a section dedicated to women: مسند النساء اللاتى روين عن رسول الله صلعم; and in folio 314 v°:.باب من يعرف من الـنـســاء بالكنّى In these sections, the alphabetical order is better observed. We read on the back of the first leaf, the copy of a certificate of hearing reading, dated the year 771 AH (1369 AD), and on the back of the last leaf two autograph reading certificates. Ms. dated 728 A.H. (1327 A.D.).

The present ms. is the sixth and final volume of this work; but folios 1 to 19 belong to the beginning of another volume, perhaps the fourth.
