Biographies of ulama, which according to the main author constitutes a complement (taḏyīl) to al-Dībāğ al-muḏahhab by Ibn Farḥūn. The work only cites the characters omitted by the Dībāğ, or adds to the biography of certain personalities. The work was completed in Marrakech, Morocco on 7 ğumādā I in the year 1005 A.H. / December 27, 1596 (f.263v). The manuscript is bound out of order and should be read as follows: f. 1v-113v; f. 134-139v; f. 114-133v; f.140 at the end. Full text. Incipit: (f. 1v): وبعد فيقول الفقير لرحمة ربه القدير أحمد بن أحمد بن أحمد بن Explicit (f. 263v): ولا حول ولا قوة إلا بالله العلي العظيم وصلى الله على سيدنا محمد نبيه وءاله وصحبه وسلم تسليما The manuscript was copied by several copyists, which is why it contains writings of different types and characters. For the initial copyist: f. 1v. -35v. ; f. 66-85; same type of continuous writing in small characters until f. 105; f. 114-133v; f. 189 at the end. The f. 36-50, v. ; 51-65, v.; 106-113, v; 134-188v. are in different hands. Start of copying on Thursday evening 11 rağab 1274h / February 25, 1858, in Timbuktu at the home of a granddaughter of Ahmed Baba, named Nāna ‘Āyša, wife of the writer of the mark on f. 1r: Nāna ‘Āyša was the wife of San Širfī (see ms from the Ahmad Bābā Institute of Timbuktu, no. 11640). The latter is therefore the sponsor of the copy. Cover binding with central medallion in the shape of a mandorla covered with green paper, teardrop-shaped motifs on the vertical axis marked by a net, cold-stamped border: nets, small circles, X-shaped motifs. On the flap, decoration of triangles and crosspieces. Back and edge cover with lattice patterns. Traces of diamonds in green paper on the edge cover. Biographies of the past, which is the main one of the completion (taḏyīl) of al-Dībāğ al-Muḏahhab of Ibn Farḥūn. There is no room for people to come to Dībāğ, or to the biographies of certain people.
