The name of the author is indicated in the introduction, on folio 5 recto, and the historian Saʿd ed-Din, the author of the Taǧ el-tevarikh, is cited on folio 4 verso. This work is written in an elegant style, in prose and verse; its last chapter (folio 131 verso) contains the list of scholars and notable people who lived under the reign of Soleïman I. This manuscript was acquired, in October 1816, by Langlès, from a certain Théologon, who had been a dragoman of the “Ottoman Legation in Paris”, as indicated by a note in Langlès' hand, on the recto of the first leaf; it is decorated with a sarloh of a crude execution..
