This character, according to Haği Khalifa, is Aboul-Meʿali ʿAla ed-Din Mohammed ibn ʿAbd el-Baki el-Bukhari el-Mekki, who was a preacher in Medina, and who dedicated his work to Seyyid Hoseïn ibn Hasan Sherif. He says (folios 5 verso-6 verso) that he only translated into Turkish language, dated the year 991 AH (1583), what had been written in Arabic by well-known historians, Ǧelal ed-Din el-Soyouti, of which he used two treatises, the ازهار العروش فی اخبار الحبوش الحبشان and the رفع شان [the date on which Soyouti (d. 911 = 1505-1506) wrote was written in the space between the lines in the implausibly erroneous form 1021 (1612-1613)]; Aboul- ʿAbbas ibn Ahmed ibn ʿAbd el-Melik el-Tanoukhi el-Katari القطری, with his فضل الخدّام و الخدم; the famous hafiz Aboul-Faraǧ ibn el-Ǧauzi, whose تنویر ,الغبش فی فضایل السودان و الحبش he used without counting a number of other books. The work is divided into an introduction, four chapters, subdivided into numerous sections, and a conclusion, the details of which are given on folios 8-13.
