Neskhi, copied in a frame traced in red ink, by el-Hağğ Mohammed ibn Ahmed el-Uskudari (of Scutari), who lived in the convent of Aidinzade, and who completed his work in the last decade of the month of Shaʿban in the year 1201 AH (June 7-16, 1787).. This work, in the present copy, is dedicated to the Sultan Mahmoud I (n° 184, folio 1 recto); the name of the author is given on folio 2 recto, and the title on folio 2 verso; we read, in its introduction, the praises of the grand vizier, ʿAli Pasha, and of the sheikh el-Islam, Ishak Efendi. The author of this work, Ibrahim Hanif, whom Haği Khalifa calls Molla Ibrahim Hanif, was inspector of the pious foundations of Mecca and Medina, at the time when the Ottoman bibliographer (d. 1068) wrote his Bibliographic Dictionary (IV, page 61); he is essentially different from Seyyid Ibrahim Hanif, who, in 1201 AH, made a pilgrimage to Heǧaz, of which he composed a report, described under number 1296. It follows that it is necessary to correct what the copyist wrote in the preface, where we read the dedication to Sultan Mahmoud محمود (1148-1168 of the hegira) [folio 1 verso], and substitute for the name of this sovereign that of Mohammed محمّد IV (1058-1099 of the hegira = 1648-1687). This person used for the writing of his work two commentaries on the Arabic original, which were written by Nour ed-Din ʿAli el-Kari and by Shihab ed-Din Ahmed el-Khafaǧi. The work consists mainly of a Turkish paraphrase of the Arabic text, conceived largely in a grammatical sense. The Arabic text of the Shifa, which is divided into four sections, is found in the Arab Fund, under numbers 1953-1956, 5265, 6083; comments, in Arabic, exist under the numbers 1957 and 1958. Luxury copy, decorated with a sarloh; a biography of Aboul-Fadhl ʿIyadh el-Yahsoubi can be read at the end of the second volume of this manuscript.. Half-bound.
