Golden dots enhanced with blue and red separate the verses. In the margin, decorations in the shape of a mandorla and eight-pointed stars with a blue and gold background with a floral motif indicate the groups of five and ten verses respectively. At the head of each surah appear its title and the number of its verses, in white ṯuluṯ characters on the golden background of a cartouche placed in a banner. The text of the S. I is arranged on two pages (ff° 1 v° and 2 r°) in the center of a frame delimited on its outer sides by a wide band composed of blue and gold figures intertwined with each other and crossed by a floral arabesque. Red and blue lines trace three rows of three rosettes: in the middle one, the most important, the circles intersect and draw in the center a vertical golden cartouche with concave edges where the text is written in white ṯuluṯ characters. All around, an arabesque unfolds on a blue background. The circles of the two rows located on either side are tangent and present a decoration of two golden figures facing each other. The beginning (ff° 2 v° and 3 r°), the middle (ff° 122 v° and 123 r°) and the end of the text (ff° 244 v° and 245 r°) are arranged in a frame delimited by a gold and blue scalloped band decorated with floral arabesques. On each page, the text is arranged inside a linear blue, brown, gold, red and green frame, itself subdivided into five compartments; three of them are banners which have received lines 1, 9 and 17, written in muḥaqqaq (the ink is alternately gold or blue: on the front, blue/gold/blue, on the back, gold/blue/gold), and which frame two rectangles, flanked by two vertical bands decorated with foliage, where the text is written in nasẖ (ff° 240 r° to 243 v° have not been completed). Oriental paper. 245 fol. 294 × 214mm. (margins have been cropped). 17 lines per page (for their arrangement, see above; in ff° 1 v° and 2 r°: 5 l.). Writing surface: 181 × 114 and 74 mm. Black, gold and blue ink (see above). Iranian binding from the 16th century. restored in the 18th century. (?) from old elements. The center of the two covers is made up of the old covers of which the central plate (arabesque decoration bordered by a garland of flowers), the pendants and the spandrels, executed using the sūẖt technique (cut leather on a blue paper background), contrast with the field occupied by a decoration of "clouds" and arabesques cold stamped then gilded 1 (1. For the old part of this binding, cf. D. JAMES, Qur'ans, n° 62, p. 81. For suẖt, see notice 474, n. The frame is made up of a band of chained hatched S's, stamped then gilded, caught between two gilded fillets (this decoration appears on a piece added at the time of the restoration), and a second band of cartouches and quatrefoils alternated with a floral garland decoration, stamped then gilded; a wider strip - also added during restoration - forms the edge. The covering has the same decoration as the dishes; the current flap, contemporary with the repair of the binding, offers three cartridges with Koran LVI, 79, cold stamped then gilded. The backplates are decorated with a central plate in the shape of a polylobed mandorla (92 × 64 mm; “broken stem” bouquet decoration).
