Notes A good modern copy, forged and contrasted with the original from which it was copied and with another copy, as appears from the corresponding corrections fixed in the footnotes, which are sometimes laden with attributed and omitted sayings and quotations, from Sahih al-Jawhari and al-Qamoos al-Muhit to the poetry of al-Mikali, Abu al-Fath al-Basti, Ibn al-Arif, Abu Nuwas, and others, to Hayat al-Hayat by al-Dumayri and others. This copy adds many phrases and corrections to numerous verses in the print, such as what was mentioned in the translation of Sheikh Abu Abdullah Muhammad bin Muhammad bin Baysh al-Abdari [page 91 of the publication, folio 28a of this manuscript], and in the translation of Abu Muhammad Abdullah bin Abi al-Qasim bin Juz al-Andalusi [page 97 of the publication and folio 30a of this manuscript], and similar things. Although the end of the publication largely agrees with the end of the manuscript, the text in it was written in dark brown ink overall. The copyist used red and blue ink to write proper nouns, diacritic movements, verse breaks, words, and so on, on European-made kerchief whose color tends to be yellowish, satin, and in which parallel lines and the distinctive commercial watermark [three consecutive crescents] appear. And they betrayed, so they succeeded ~ And my advice made me dwell in a house of humiliation ~ If I live, I will not give advice, and if I die, curse those who are sincere after me with every tongue.
Metin Başı (İncipit) ((الحمد لله الذي جعل الأدب في جميع ما للفنون من الأسواق ... أما بعد فإني لما استوفيت أطواري وتشوقت ظلمي إلى مطالع أنواري واستوعبت من صحبة المغرب حصتي وختمت بالدعاء قصتي ونزلت عن منصتي وابتلعت غصتي ... صرفت إلى المشرق وجهي ...))
Yazı Tipi نسخ مغربي تدويني
Metin Sonu (Explicit) ((... وهل أنا إلا غرس أنعمه التي ~ غيوث الهدايا كل يوم تجوده - فبريّها فيه شفاء ورحمة ~ وبحريّها مما يعزّ وجوده - فماذا عسى أنهيه من شكر منعم ~ يؤلف بين الضب والنون جوده))
