Notes
A complete, rare copy, written in blue ink. It is an interpretation in 30 parts. The author’s draft, which he wrote in the first parts in the margins of the edition of the Meccan Qur’an. Then the author added to the first text many footnotes, numerous additions, and spreads, referring each page or group of pages to its place in the text. The parts of this interpretation are close in size, each part ranging between 200-250 pages. The author prepared this interpretation for printing, preparing the lines and pictures, and placed it at the end. He wrote each part as an index of its contents, and placed each of the two parts in large folders because its papers were not bound together. After that, he wrote a list of his printed and manuscript works, and he did not mention from them his brief interpretation of the Qur’an, which he called “the flower of interpretations,” which is a summary of it.

فاتحة الجزء الأول الحمد لله ربّ العالمين، الرحمن الرحيم، مالك يوم الدين ... أما بعد، فيقول ... محمد طاهر بن عبد القادر بن محمود الكردي المكّي الشافعي، إنّني تشرّفت بكتابة القرآن العظيم ... كتابة على وفق رسم المصحف العثماني، الذي سمّيته (( مصحف مكّة المكرمة )) وذلك في سنة ( 1362هـ ) ... طبع سنة ( 1369هـ ) بمكّة شرفها الله ... أحببت أن أضع تفسيراً لطيفاً لكتاب الله الكريم ... فشرعت في التأليف ابتداءً من غرة شهر ربيع الأول ( 1378هـ ) ... بمكّة المكرّمة ... ثم بعد أيام وقع في قلبي أن أسميه (( التفسير المكّي )) ...

... في نهاية الجزء الثلاثين : لقد أتممت بحمد لله تعالى وعونه وتوفيقه تفسير سورة الناس التي هي آخر سورة في القرآن الكريم قبيل منتصف ليلة الخميس 17 شوال سنة 1381 هـ. ... وذلك بمكة المكرّمة. ثم أورد المؤلف خاتمة للتفسير في 12 ورقة بيّن فيها أنه اشتغل في هذا التفسير ثلاث سنين متوالية ليلاً نهاراً بدون توقّف ... وقال : أنا حريص على الاشتغال بهذا التفسير المكّي واتمامه في نفس مكّة المكرّمة ...
