The beginning of the manuscript: Ibn al-Jazari said in Al-Tayyibah: (The skillful one who, when he stops, begins with the face of the one on whom he stops.) That is, the skillful one, according to them, is the one who does not commit to presenting a specific person, but if he stops at the face of the reader, he begins with that particular reader, and that does not count as part of the order, but rather it is better at remembering and arranging. He knew of the requirement of good stopping and starting, avoiding what is appropriate... The humidity of the end of the manuscript: ... and what I took upon my sheikhs in Egypt, the Levant, and elsewhere is to start with workshops from the path of Azraq and then Al-Isfahani. Then they say, then Abu Jaafar, then Ibn Katheer, then Abu Amr, then Yaqoub, then Ibn Amir, then Asim, then Hamza, then Al-Kisa’i, then Khalaf, and this is often followed, and the benefit of the arrangement is that he is aware of what he has read and what he is reading, so he does not miss anything. And God knows best, Ibn al-Nazim’s narration.
