Sample Text Some advice from the Hanafi school of law: It is forbidden or not desirable to eat some forms of seafood other than fish based on the hadith of Muhammad: "Two types of dead meat and two types of blood are permitted by law for your consumption [without the bodies being slaughtered]: fish and locust, liver and spleen." (Ahmad and Ibn Majah say). Each salah (prayer five times a day) should be performed at a specific time, except during the pilgrimage. (Some scholars who do not belong to the Hanafi school allow the traveling individual to adjust the prayer time to suit his circumstances). Abu Hanifa, based on the literal view (harfi), held that "wine" (khamr, hamr in Qur'anic/classical Arabic), ie. Fermented juice of dates or grapes, absolutely forbidden, but it is permissible to drink small amounts of other non-intoxicating alcoholic drinks (for example, made from honey or grains). Later scholars of the Hanafi legal school tended to prohibit all alcoholic beverages regardless of their origin. A Muslim is allowed to work on the construction of a church if he receives an appropriate salary according to Hanafi standards. Year of publication: 1562.
