Sample Text His saying... The Book of Punishments is the plural of hadd, and what is mentioned here is the punishment for adultery, alcohol, and theft. The origin of the hadd is the confinement between two things, which prevents them from mixing. The definition of the house is what distinguishes it. The definition of the thing and its surrounding description distinguishes it from other things. The punishment for the adulterer and the like is called a hadd because it prevents him from repeating it or because it is decreed by the law... ...Chapter on the saying of God Almighty and We set the scales in fairness for the Day of Resurrection... and scales is the plural of balance and its origin is balance, so it is inverted with the kasrah of what came before it, and there is disagreement in mentioning it.
