The twenty-first from Umdat Al-Qari in Al-Bukhari’s explanation, with which the explanation was completed, with the grace, help, kindness, and generosity of God, at the end of the first third of the night of Saturday, the fifth of the month of Jumada Al-Awwal, in the year forty-seven. Eight hundred years after the Prophet’s migration, and I began writing it at the end of the month of Rajab al-Asab in the year eight hundred and twenty, and I finished the first part on Monday the sixteenth of the holy month of Dhul-Hijjah in the year eight hundred and twenty, and I finished the second part on Tuesday the seventh of the month of Jumada al-Akhira in the year eight hundred and twenty-one, and I finished the third part on Friday the eighth of Jumada al-Awwal in the year eight hundred and thirty-three, after I had stayed in it for half a year, and there was an absence between the second. The third was sixteen years or more, and I finished the fourth on Tuesday, the ninth of Rabi’ al-Akhir in the year eight hundred and thirty-nine. Then I continued writing and composing until the aforementioned date of the twenty-first, and the period of my time in writing was ten years, with many days interspersed within it. Praise be to God Almighty for this blessing.) | From the chapter on standing on an animal in Arafat to the chapter on whether it concerns any of the days
Sample Text Chapter on standing on an animal in Arafat. Meaning: This is a chapter on the explanation of standing riding on an animal in Arafat. P. Abdullah bin Maslama told us on the authority of Malik on the authority of Abu Al-Nadr on the authority of Umair, the servant of Abdullah bin Abbas on the authority of Umm Al-Fadl bint Al-Harith that people disagreed there on the day of Arafat about the fasting of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and some of them said he was fasting and some of them said he was not fasting, so I sent him a cup of milk while he was standing on his camel and he drank it. This is consistent with the trend in his saying: (while standing) On his camel)... ... (PBUH) Chapter: Does he single out any of the days... His saying: (He singles out) is a matter of fabrication, and in Jarir’s narration on the authority of Mansour in Al-Riqqaq: (He singles out), without a dual ta’ from above. His saying: (Dima) with the kasra of the dāl and the ṣā’ being silent at the end of the letters, meaning: always and never ceasing, and from that the rain that lasts and does not stop for days is called: dāma. Praise be to God first and last... This blessed part has been completed... Praise be to God, Lord of the Worlds... It will be recited, God Almighty willing, in the next part, the chapter on fasting on the day of Arafat, and praise be to God alone.
