Notes	A good copy, corresponding to several copies, contains fragments of the original, starting from “part thirty-seven” until part forty-two. He wrote on a sheet of paper (147): “the last part twenty of parts thirty.” \| The last dictation by Imam al-Bukhari for his Sahih was in Bukhara in the year 252 AH, and the dictation before that was in February in the year 248 AH. Since his last dictation is considered a final highlight of the book, we have adopted it as the year of his writing, and some researchers have indicated that the year of his writing of the book is the year 232 AH. \| From the Almighty’s saying: “We do not abrogate any verse or cause it to be forgotten,” to the chapter: “Whoever is unable to recite it, let him fast.”

Omar, may God be pleased with him, said: My father made us read, and Ali made us judge... (Chapter Whoever is unable to recite the verse, let him fast) Omar bin Hafs told us... Then the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said to us: O young people, whoever of you is able to recite it, let him marry, for it will lower the gaze and protect one’s chastity, and whoever is not able to do so, let him fast, for it is his and his duty. The end of the seventh part of Sahih Al-Bukhari... and it is divided into ten parts. It will be followed, God willing, at the beginning of the eighth, the chapter on the abundance of women. Ibrahim bin Musa told us, and praise be to God, Lord of the worlds.
