Praise be to God who explained the breasts of the people of faith with guidance, and poked the hearts of those who are tyrannical, so that they will never be aware of wisdom... As for what follows, these are useful and clarifying jokes from Al-Jami’ Al-Sahih by Abu Abdullah... Al-Bukhari... I had begun a great explanation that I opened with an introduction to most of the purposes of the explanation. When I mastered it, edited it, and wrote from the explanation the areas where it was refined and the areas where it was dark, I saw that the concerns were short and the motivations for compiling the long ones were easy...so that prompted me to collect these jokes. ... ... His saying, “He cut off this pharynx,” was added in Al-Mustammali’s narration. Abu Abdullah said that the compiler meant the pharynx, the food tract... But Abu Hurairah meant when he said, “He cut off my father,” that the people of generosity cut off his head if they heard his fault, and God knows best.
