This copy has a different handwriting on some pages, and contains corrections, comments, and footnotes, but it is missing the rest. The last dictation by Imam al-Bukhari for his Sahih was in Bukhara in the year 252 AH, and the dictation before that was in February in the year 248 AH. Since his last dictation is considered a final highlight of the book, we have adopted it as the year of his writing, and some researchers have indicated that the year of his writing of the book is the year 232 AH.

(Chapter on the tribute and friendly relations with the people of war). And God Almighty says: {Fight those who do not believe in God nor in the Last Day and do not forbid what God and His Messenger have forbidden and do not follow the religion of truth among those who were given the Book until they pay the tribute out of hand while they are submissive} ... (The Book of Sacrifice)... (Chapter on the saying of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, to Abu Burdah: “Sacrifice the trunk of a goat, and it will not be sufficient for anyone after you”)... Musaddad told us, Khalid bin Abdullah told us, Mutarrif told us, on the authority of Amer, on the authority of Al-Baraa bin Azib, may God be pleased with them both, he said: An uncle of mine, called Abu Burdah, sacrificed before prayer, and the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said to him: “You have a meat sheep”.
