Number of volumes: 2# At the end of which is a paper from the author’s words about the writing of the book and its history | In the author’s handwriting at the end of the copy of the Holy Mosque, which is numbered (1141), it is stated that the date of the composition is: (The oath of its author and ruler was empty, to the mercy of his rich Lord, Abu Muhammad Mahmoud bin Ahmad Al-Aini, who composed and underlined this part. The twenty-first from Umdat Al-Qari in Al-Bukhari’s explanation, with which the explanation was completed, with the grace, help, kindness, and generosity of God, at the end of the first third of the night of Saturday, the fifth of the month of Jumada Al-Awwal, in the year forty-seven. Eight hundred years after the Prophet’s migration, and I began writing it at the end of the month of Rajab al-Asab in the year eight hundred and twenty, and I finished the first part on Monday the sixteenth of the holy month of Dhul-Hijjah in the year eight hundred and twenty, and I finished the second part on Tuesday the seventh of the month of Jumada al-Akhira in the year eight hundred and twenty-one, and I finished the third part on Friday the eighth of Jumada al-Awwal in the year eight hundred and thirty-three, after I had stayed in it for half a year, and there was an absence between the second. The third was sixteen years or more, and I finished the fourth on Tuesday, the ninth of Rabi’ al-Akhir in the year eight hundred and thirty-nine. Then I continued writing and composing until the aforementioned date of the twenty-first, and the period of my time in writing was ten years, with many days interspersed within it. أوقف وحبّس وسبّل هذي الكتاب الفقير إلى الله تعالى الأمير عبْد الحيّ أغا ابْن المرْحوم عمر جاويش داودية على طلبة العلم لينْتفعوا به من كتابة ومطالعة وغير، وقْفا صحيحا شرْعيّا [بإيجاب] وقبول من غير إكْراه ولا إجبار في ذلك، ولقوله تعالى: {فمن بدله بعد ما سمعه فإنما إثمه على الذين يبدلونه إن الله سميع عليم}، تحْريرا في 7 ذي الحجّة ختام عام 1201هـ، صلّى الله على سيّدنا محمّد وعلى آله وصحْبه وسلّم، آمين

في آخرها ورقة فيها« قال المصنف رحمه الله ورضي عنه ...يوم الاثنين السادس عشر من شهر ذي الحجة الحرام سنة عشرين وثمانمائة وفرغت من الجزء الثاني نهار الثلاثاء السابع من شهر جمادى الأخرى سنة احدى وعشرين وثمانمائة وفرغت من الجزء الثالث يوم الجمعة الثامن من جمادى الأولى سنة ثلاث وثلاثين وثمانمائة بعد أن مكثت فيه نصف سنة وكان الخلو بين الثاني والثالث مقدار ستة عشر سنة وأكثر وفرغت في الرابع من يوم الثلاثاء التاسع من ربيع الآخر سنة تسع وثلاثين وثمانمائة ثم استمريت في الكتابة والتأليف إلى التاريخ المذكور في الحادي والعشرين وكانت مدة مكثي في التأليف مقدار عشر سنين مع تخلل أيام كثيرة فيها والحمد لله رب العالمين...»
