Notes
Mark the main titles in a larger font.#- At the beginning of the copy is an index of the books it contains.#- Ibn Sa’ada’s copy, which is in the handwriting of Abu Imran Musa bin Sa’ada al-Balansi. He wrote it divided into five books. He copied it from the original by his sheikh and son-in-law, Abu Ali al-Sadfi, and finished annotating it in the last ten days of Dhul-Qa’dah in the year 492 AH. Then he said: As for the original copy in Ibn Sa’ada’s handwriting, three books now remain of it: the second, fourth, and fifth, and it is in the public treasury in Rabat. #- A copy with an old cursive pen, the fifth of which has been copied. It is the last book in the year 492 AH, and the floor has been tampered with, and the first copy reads in the year 493 by Abu Imran Musa bin Saada. The copy is attributed to him, and it is said: Ibn Saada’s copy, and the Moroccans have much talk about this copy. | The last dictation by Imam al-Bukhari for his Sahih was in Bukhara in the year 252 AH, and the dictation before that was in February in the year 248 AH. Since his last dictation is considered a final highlight of the book, we have adopted it as the year of his writing, and some researchers have indicated that the year of his writing of the book is the year 232 AH.
