The copy is framed in gold from beginning to end. It has a gilded introductory plate, and the first leaf is made of gold between the lines. It has notes for explanation. At the beginning of it is an index of the contents of the book. The words “Chapter,” “Hadathna,” and the titles are written mostly in gilding and sometimes in blue, while the rest of the text is written in black. | The last dictation by Imam al-Bukhari for his Sahih was in Bukhara in the year 252 AH, and the dictation before that was in February in the year 248 AH. Chapter: How was the beginning of the revelation to the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, and the saying of God Almighty {Indeed, We have revealed to you just as We revealed to Noah and the prophets after him} He said: Al-Humaidi Abdullah bin Al-Zubair told us, he said: Sufyan told us, he is Ibn Uyaynah... saying, I heard Omar bin Al-Khattab on the pulpit, saying: I heard the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, say, “Actions are but by intentions... ... Chapter on Abu Dharr al-Ghafari’s conversion to Islam... Then he carried his skin and brought him to the mosque and that remained.” Today, the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, did not see him until evening, so he returned to his resting place, so Ali passed by him and said, “Didn’t he ask the boy to know his place?” So he stayed with him, and he went with him, and neither of them asked his friend about anything, until the third day came, so he returned like that and stayed with him. Then he said, “Won’t you tell me what brought you forward?” He said, “If you give me a promise.”
