Ibn Masoud, may God be pleased with him, said, “I know that the last of the people of Hell to exit from it, and the last of the people of Paradise to enter Paradise, is a man who comes out of Hell crawling, and God Almighty says to him, ‘Go, enter Paradise.’ He goes to it and imagines that it is full, so he returns and says, ‘O Lord, I found it full.’ Then God Almighty says, ‘Go and enter Paradise,’ and he comes to it, and it imagines to him that it is full... ... His saying, ‘It is not appropriate for anyone but a servant of God, and I hope that I will be him.’ It is only for humility, and the pronoun ‘I’ is a pronoun.” In the nominative case, an affirmation of the hidden pronoun in his saying “I will be,” and the word “is” is a nominative pronoun in the position of the pronoun assigned to goodness, for his saying “I am” means that I will be it, and the word “is” refers to the servant, or his saying “I” is a nominal sentence in the position of the predicate due to his saying “I will be.” A conclusion Muslim mentioned in his Sahih on the authority of Omar ibn al-Khattab, may God be pleased with him, who said: The Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said, “If the muezzin says, ‘God is great’... he said, ‘There is no god but God.
