The version is corrected and includes some comments. | The last dictation by Imam al-Bukhari for his Sahih was in Bukhara in the year 252 AH, and the dictation before that was in February in the year 248 AH. Since his last dictation is considered a final highlight of the book, we have adopted it as the year of his writing, and some researchers have indicated that the year of his writing of the book is the year 232 AH.

“Chapter on pictures. Adam told us, Ibn Abi Dhi’ib told us, on the authority of Al-Zuhri, on the authority of Ubayd Allah bin Abdullah.... The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, said, ‘The angels do not enter a house in which there is a dog or pictures..’ ... The Book of Warriors, chapter on stoning with tiles. Muhammad bin Uthman bin Karamah told us, Khalid bin Mukhlid told us, on the authority of Suleiman... He said, ‘A Jew and a Jewish woman came to the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace. They had all conceived, so he said to them, ‘What do you find in your book?’ So he put it.” One of them had his hand on the verse about stoning, and he began to recite what came before it and what came after it. Ibn Salam said to him, “Raise your hand,” and there was the verse about stoning under his hand. So the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, ordered them to be stoned. Ibn Umar said, “So they were stoned at the court, and I saw the Jew yearning for it.” The end of the ninth part of Sahih Al-Bukhari, may God benefit us with it. The end of the ninth part...and it will be followed at the beginning of the tenth part, God willing, the chapter on stoning in the prayer place.

لحمد لله رب العالمين. أوقف مولانا السلطان المالك الملك الأشرف أبو النصر قايتباي عز مصره هذا الكتاب على طلبة العلم الشريف وجعل مقره بحزانة الكتب بمدرسته المعروفة بإنشائه بقرب سيدي عبد الله المنوفي وأن لا يخرج منها برهن ولا بغيره بتاريخ السابع والعشرين من جمادى الآخرة سنة أحد وثمانين وثمانمائة. شهد بذلك أحمد بن عبد الرحمن الإمام. شهد بذلك أبو البقاء بن يحيى بن الجيعان.
