Notes In this article, Ebû Mansur el-Mâtürîdî (d. 333/944)'s evaluations of some Sufi concepts are tried to be discussed, based on the work called Te'vîlâtü'l-Kur'ân. Maturidi is a scholar who stands out with his emphasis on reason in the tradition of Islamic thought. He also constructed his work called Te'vîlâtü'l-Kur'an by centering this understanding. This allowed the perception that he kept his distance from Sufism. However, if his work is examined holistically, it will be seen that Maturidi commented on the statements of some Sufis and thus contributed to a better understanding of the relevant issue. It will also be noticed that he gives advice on how to have the good qualities pointed out by the Sufis, such as being generous and patient, or educating the soul. In addition, it will be understood that Mâtürîdî used some important concepts in the field of Sufism in his work titled Te'vîlâtü'l-Kur'an, but he attributed a different meaning to them. As a result, due to his intellectual structure, his redefinition of some of the cornerstone concepts of the Sufi field has led us to believe that it prevents him from entering the Sufi literature.
