Notes
The Holy Quran ranks first among Muslims' sources of knowledge and serves as a guide for believers in various areas of life. In this regard, the main purpose in turning to the Quran should be to understand and live it. In addition to its practical value, recitation of the Quran is also an important act of worship. As a matter of fact, it is seen that this issue is included in the definitions of the Quran. Muslims also have a tradition called hatim, which is practiced by reading the entire Quran. Considering its widespread presence in Islamic societies, the tradition of hatim is related to the Prophet Muhammad. The idea that it should have a basis in the time of the Prophet (pbuh) and his companions seems quite reasonable. As a matter of fact, it is possible to see narrations that base the practice of hatim in hadith sources and other classical works written in different branches of Islamic sciences. As far as these narrations can be determined, Abdullah b. Amr, Qays b. Ebî Saʿsaʿa, ʿIrbâd b. Sâriye, Câbir b. Abdillah and Ubey b. They were transferred from the companions named Kaʿb. Zurâre b. There is also a mursal narration transmitted from Awfa. This research examines the tradition in question. It aims to examine the Sunnah of the Prophet (pbuh) and its foundations in the practice of the companions. It is thought that the findings regarding its source will also reveal the quality of marshmallow.
