The concept of "dignity" is used as a root in nine places in the Holy Quran. Although it is a concept rarely mentioned in the Quran, it indicates some meanings both figuratively and literally. In this study, first of all, the meanings of dignity, which is a moral concept, in the sources before and after the revelation, as a dictionary and term, were determined. As a result of the research, it was concluded that etymologically, this concept corresponds to meanings such as "loss of hearing", "heavy burden", "respecting someone", "being dignified and gentle-tempered" and "being patient and steadfast". When looking at the immediate meaning of the concept; It is seen that the words hilm, peace/hudû', izzet-ta'zîm, serenity and contentment come to the fore. It is possible to list the meanings that the Quran attributes to this concept as "heaviness", "burden", "respect", "greatness" and, as a derivative of the word "krr", "dwelling / sitting with dignity". In addition, it has been determined that the word dignity is used in hadiths with meanings such as "humility", "dignity", "exaltation", "maturity". As a result, in this study, it was seen that the word "tevkîr" meant "hollow", "leaving a trace" before the revelation, and then turned into the meaning "to respect". Again, in the verses, the word "dignity/deafness" has turned into a metaphorical meaning. Apart from these, the Quran did not give a new meaning to the concept of "dignity", which is a moral concept, and used it in the meanings given in poetry and dictionaries. The concept of "waqar/dignity" is mentioned in nine places in the Qur'an as a root. Although it is a concept that is rarely mentioned in the Qur'an, it refers to some meanings metaphorically and literally. In this study, first of all, the meanings of dignity, which is a moral concept, as a dictionary and a term in the sources before and after the revelation were determined. As a result of the research, it was concluded that this concept etymologically corresponds to the meanings of "loss of hearing", "heavy burden", "respecting someone", "being dignified and mild-tempered" and "being patient and fortified". Considering the close meaning of the concept; It is seen that the words hilm/gentleness, peace/hudû', izzet-ta'zim, sekinet and teenni come to the fore. It is possible to list the meanings attributed by the Qur'an to this concept as "heaviness", "burden", "respect/honor", "greatness/sublimity" and "sitting with dignity" as a derivative of the words "krr". In addition, it has been determined that the word dignity is used with meanings such as "humulity", "solemnity", "glorification", "ripeness" in the hadiths. As a result, in this study, it has been seen that the word "tawkîr" means "hollow", "leaving a trace" before the revelation, and then it turns into the meaning of "respect". Again in the verses, the word "waqr/deafness" has turned into a figurative meaning. Apart from these, the Qur'an did not give a new meaning to the concept of "waqar", which is a moral concept, but used it in the meanings mentioned in poems and dictionaries.
