This study is based on Züheyr b., one of the leading poets of the Ignorance period. It is about the life of Ebî Sülmâ, his muallakah and the wise words in his poems. In the study, after giving brief information about the poet's life and the literary environment in which he grew up, his commentary, which was included with its Turkish translation, was examined in terms of form and content. In the following part of the study, after giving brief information about the concept of "wisdom", selections from muallaka poets who include wise words in their poems are presented. At the end of the study, the couplets containing wise words in Zuheir's muallaqa were evaluated individually. Muallakas, including Zuhayr's ode, are considered to be masterpieces of classical Arabic poetry, not only for their literary value, but also for their concise and concise words about life. It is possible to come across wise expressions consisting of these aphorisms based on long life experience, analytical observation, contemplation and general social acceptance in the poet's muallaka. Among the poems of Zuhayr, who has poems on almost every subject of ancient Arabic poetry, eulogies-themed odes have a greater place. As a matter of fact, the most important ode of the poet, his mu'allaka, is one of them, 'Herim b., which ended a war that lasted for many years between the Abs and Zubyan tribes. Sinan and al-Harith b. It is about the eulogy of 'Awf. Zuheir's sixty-two couplet ode, constructed in accordance with the classical Arabic poetry tradition, consists of four main sections. The first part of the poem, consisting of the first fifteen couplets, begins with the remembrance of the ruins of the land where the beloved once lived, with longing and longing. In this section, also called nasîb, the poet emotionally commemorates the ruins left behind by his lover and the natural environment in which they are located, accompanied by detailed descriptions that show his vast observation power and superior expression ability. In the second part of his ode, consisting of nine couplets, the poet mentions Herim b., who played an active role in the end of the war mentioned above. Sinan and al-Harith b. He included his sincere praise for 'Avf'. This section, which forms the main backbone of the ode, not only provides important clues about the poet's Hanif belief with the couplets containing oaths and prayers, but also stands out with the historical information it contains. In the third part of the ode, consisting of twenty couplets, the poet, with his wise couplets bearing traces of his long life experience and wise personality, gives effective warnings to the parties of the mentioned war and tries to convince them of peace through reason and common sense. In this sentence, the poet expresses some of the moral and theological principles of the Hanif belief, to which he belongs, in the form of wisdom and uses them as a tool to persuade his addressees. Among the Muallaka poets, Züheyr gave the most space to the wise couplets in his muallaka and for this reason, he is known as the "sage of poets" or "judge of poets". He shaped the last part of his muallaka with wise couplets about universal moral values and human virtues. These words of wisdom have been adopted by the society and passed on from generation to generation, thanks to the fact that they reflect the common mind of the society, translate the emotional worlds of the listeners, and concisely express generally experienced truths. It is hoped that this study, shaped within the framework of the wise words in Zuhayr's muallaka, will arouse interest in Jahiliyya poetry in general and other muallaka poems in particular.
