Notes Although the Mamluks defeated the Crusaders and Mongols and captured Bilad-ı Sham, there are places in the region where they have not yet been able to dominate. He was concerned that the people in these places were collaborating with the Crusaders and Mongols, who still posed a serious danger. Therefore, in order to prevent such collaborations and strengthen its authority, it carried out three expeditions on different dates to the Kesrawan mountains, which are today within the borders of the State of Lebanon. The fact that people from different Shiite sects live here has brought about discussions about the expeditions being carried out for sectarian rather than political purposes. It is recorded in the sources that the people of Kesravan cooperated with the Crusaders, tortured the Mamluk soldiers who escaped after the Battle of Hazindar, cut off the roads, kidnapped Muslims and sold them to the infidels. The first expedition was carried out in 691/1292, the second in 699/1300 and the last expedition in 705/1305. The people of Kesravan, who did not face serious sanctions in the first two campaigns, were completely removed from the region in the last campaign and Turkmens were settled in their place. In this study, each expedition will be discussed separately and how the events developed will be emphasized. The issue will be presented objectively and evaluations will be made within the framework of the information in the sources.
