Notes Today, there are various electronic libraries containing classical Islamic sources and these are widely used in Islamic studies. However, the electronic copies in these libraries have some problems; These compromise the accuracy of electronic text search results. Still, the use of these libraries is inevitable for researchers. Researchers can perform more precise text searches if they are aware of the problems and electronic text search possibilities in these libraries. The purpose of this article is to point out possible errors in the electronic copies of source works used in Islamic studies and to make suggestions to eliminate the risks caused by these errors. For this purpose, answers were sought to the questions of what kind of errors electronic copies contain and by what methods their negative effects on text searches can be eliminated. For example, electronic libraries named el-Mektebetü'ş-Şâmile, Mobdii and Altafsir were selected, and Surah Yasin from İbn Âşûr's commentary at-Tahrîr ve't-Tenvîr was selected as the field. The texts were compared word by word, and spelling errors and spelling differences were identified. The possible effects of these differences on text searches were evaluated and suggestions were made to reduce these effects. Today, there are several electronic libraries of classical Islamic sources that are widely used in Islamic studies. However, the electronic copies in these libraries have a number of problems that undermine the accuracy of electronic document search results. Nevertheless, the use of these libraries is inevitable for researchers. They will be able to perform more accurate text searches if they are aware of the problems that can occur and the techniques of electronic text searches. The aim of this article is to point out the possible errors in the electronic copies of the source works used in Islamic studies and to make suggestions for eliminating the risks of these errors. To this end, the answers were sought to the questions of what kind of errors the electronic copies contain and what methods can be used to eliminate their negative effects on text searches. The electronic libraris of al-Maktaba al-Shamela, Mobdii and Altafsir were chosen as examples and the Surah al-Ya-Sin from Ibn Ashur's al-Tahrir wa al-tanwir as the field. The texts were compared word by word, and spelling errors and spelling differences were identified. The possible effects of these differences on text searches are evaluated and suggestions are presented to minimize these effects
