Notes	The research examines the reasons for the preference of students studying in Imam Hatip High Schools on a multi-factorial basis. Survey technique was used in the research as an indirect observation method. The research hypotheses were tested by conducting field research with a total of 600 students in four districts and five Imam Hatip High Schools in Istanbul. As a result of factor analysis, a seven-factor Imam Hatip High School preference scale was created and differences in preferences were determined based on this scale. Preference factors are family, guidance from the social environment, teacher, learning religious values and religious socialization, preparation opportunities for university exams and career, career based on religious services, and the physical and cultural environment of the school. The most effective factors in preferences were determined as "learning religious values and religious socialization" and "family". Significant differences were detected in preferences according to gender, class level and preferred university, except for economics.
