Algeria is considered one of the important states for the Ottoman Empire, due to its important geographical location on the Mediterranean Sea, in addition to its economic resources represented by the nature of its geographical land and its diverse climate, which made it the focus of attention of the Ottomans. In addition, what increased the interest of the Ottomans in Algeria was the fall of Andalusia at the hands of the Spanish in the year 1492 AD, and the Muslims were forced to leave it. The Europeans were not satisfied with that, but rather rushed to pursue the Muslims to the coasts of North Africa and They imposed their control on many of its ports and cities, which prompted the Ottoman Empire to turn to it and return it to the Muslim fold, especially after the Arabs called for help from the Ottoman Empire, specifically Algeria, who sent distress telegrams to the sultans of the Othman family, demanding their rescue from European tyranny. The interest of the Ottoman Empire in Algeria increased after the brothers Aruj and Khair al-Din contacted it, whom the Ottomans provided with aid until they were able to impose their control over Algeria and establish Ottoman rule there. After that, the Ottoman Empire worked to create an administrative system that was compatible with its system of government, as it divided Algeria into provinces and placed at the head of each province a governor who was connected to the first governor of the city of Algiers. In this study, the focus was on how Algeria came under the authority of the Ottomans, and what were the administrative procedures followed by the Ottoman Empire to rule the state of Algiers, which continued from the year 1518 AD, when the rule of Baklarbekia was established, until Algeria was subjected to French rule in the year 1830 AD.
