Notes This study is an important part of the study of the social history of Egypt during the Ottoman era, and is a new addition to the study of the history of Egypt in the Ottoman era, as it included fateful decisions issued by the Ottoman Sultan to the Pasha in Egypt regarding sending the missionary treasury in an important historical period full of various events, because Egypt was like a jewel for the Ottoman Sultan, unlike any other Arab state for the Ottoman Empire. It was the richest and most prestigious, and even the most supportive of the Ottoman Empire in financial and military terms. Egypt had an active and prominent role in supporting the Ottoman Empire in its wars. When the Ottoman Empire was exposed to adversity, many men came to it for the battles and wars it fought, in addition to the fact that Egypt was an important source of the missionary treasury that was sent annually to the Ottoman Sultan. The missionary treasury then became an important support and support for the treasury in Istanbul, and represented a great source of income for the Ottoman state. The Ottoman Sultan began to rely on it annually, and could not do without it even in times when Egypt was going through adversity and financial crises. The Ottoman Sultan was insisting on sending them in full without any decrease, but rather sending them on time, otherwise the governors of Egypt would be removed from their positions, and those in charge of them would be imprisoned. This is what forced the governors of Egypt in many cases to impose taxes on the people and burden them, to compensate for the decrease in the missionary treasury. After that, the missionary treasury celebration was considered one of the most important major celebrations for the Ottoman Sultan, in which senior state employees participated, led by the Pasha, then employees of the state administrative body. It became one of the joyful occasions in which senior scholars, sheikhs, heads of the court, and military judges participated. This celebration was going on joyfully in the presence of all the men of the military bands, who were in war dress, carrying all the swords and spears, and performing the military parade. The parade and celebrations began in joy at the completion of the treasury, and the bands played, and the celebration procession began to walk in a large square in the presence of the Pasha. It becomes clear to us through this research that the missionary treasury’s celebrations were among the most important and large celebrations. They lasted for three days and nights, and everyone gathered amidst this joy and ululations, and the procession took place in the midst of great joy and joy, all in a solemn celebration. Then the treasury stayed for three days and nights in Adliya under guard, during which great weddings and banquets were held in the shadow of music, singers, fireworks, and artillery shots that continued to be repeated until the moment the missionary treasury departed.
