Notes Muslims, Hz. They have carried out the necessary studies since the early times in order to learn about the life of the Prophet (pbuh). Turks who chose Islam as their religion also participated in these activities, and some of these studies were in the form of translation activities. The 16th century, arguably the brightest period of the Ottoman Empire. The century is also important in terms of the increase in such studies. Bâkî, who is known as the sultan of poets,'s translation of Kastallânî's work Mevâhıbu'l-ledünniyye is a good example of these. This work shows his mastery in poetry as well as his power in prose. There is not enough information about how Bâkî evaluated the historical narrations in this translation and the method he followed in the translation and criticism of hadith texts. In this study, especially the first chapters of the work were examined comparatively for this purpose. In this translation, it was concluded that Bâkî made a choice among some narrations rather than criticizing the narrations in the relevant work. The study focused on issues such as the method Bâkî followed in translation and what he took into consideration when choosing the narrations.
