The research dealt with the political developments that occurred on the European scene, which led to Russia’s rapprochement with the Ottoman Empire and forgetting the differences of the recent past to confront the French threat through joint naval campaigns in the Mediterranean against the French presence there, which ended with the two countries agreeing to establish the Republic of the Seven Islands in the Mediterranean, which were placed under the sovereignty of the Ottoman Empire and the protection of Tsarist Russia. This is considered a historical paradox, as a republic was established in the Mediterranean by the two kingdoms (Russia and the Ottoman Empire) to confront the French Republic.
