For success in education and training, correct process management is required, and for this, many components such as school administration, students, parents and curriculum must work in harmony and harmony. Among these components, disciplinary practices and therefore reward and punishment also have a place. Nowadays, the need for encouraging or deterrent sanctions is increasing due to changes in many issues, from students' habits to their learning styles, and the weakening of parental authority. It is seen that reward and punishment, which are always included in education for motivational purposes, are also included in many areas of life, such as punishing criminals and appreciating successful people. In fact, heaven and its blessings, as well as hell and torment offered as a result of whether or not people comply with the orders and prohibitions set forth in the Holy Quran for the purpose of ensuring happiness in both worlds, can be evaluated within the scope of reward and punishment. Hz. The hadiths of the Prophet (pbuh) regarding reading the Quran and learning and teaching it are also noteworthy as they remind us of the place of appreciation and encouragement in the education and teaching of the Holy Quran. Our classical educators and thinkers, who emphasized the need to appreciate and encourage students with praiseworthy words in education, pointed out that punishment should be included as much as appreciation for the education and success of the child. Reward and punishment practices, which were reflected in some instructions and regulations during the Ottoman period, continue to be included in today's disciplinary regulations. In general, it can be stated that reward, in all its meanings, will make the education-training process more beautiful and efficient, while punishment will reduce this efficiency, so the use of reward is important and valuable in terms of the process in question, but one should be very careful about the use of punishment. However, it is difficult to talk about a theory that everyone agrees on on this issue, which varies from theory to practice and from person to person. There are also those who claim the opposite of one of the most common views, which is that rewards increase motivation. As in other types of education throughout history, many different incentive tools and penal sanctions have been used in Quran education. As a course that requires the active participation of the instructor and the student, and therefore where teacher-student communication comes to the fore, the Holy Quran course requires a certain understanding of discipline. Within this understanding of discipline, including rewards, especially words of appreciation and encouragement, has a special value. However, the use of any type of punishment, whether psychological or physical, requires much more sensitivity. It goes without saying that punishments that harm human dignity and cause the addressee to have negative feelings towards the Quran and religion should be avoided. In this article, the issue of reward and punishment, which has an important place in the details of the teaching processes of the holy book, which is mandatory for Muslims, will be discussed. First, the nature of the issue will be revealed and some opinions will be evaluated, and then the situation of the issue will be discussed in terms of Quran education and training processes.
