Notes
In this article, the circle of justice, which is the most basic, most important and central concept in terms of both the contents and chapter titles of the books written in many types of politics that make up the medieval Islamic political thought, is discussed from the beginning to the 16th century of the Ottoman period, considering only its long form. An effort will be made to examine and evaluate the concept in question from two aspects: its historical process and theoretical background or principles, limited to a period until the end of the 20th century. In terms of its historical process, first of all, it will be tried to determine the first source containing the long form of the department of justice and how or in what way the long form was transferred to medieval Islamic political thought, and what this determination means, in other words, the result of this determination will be shown. Secondly, the sources that include the long form of the department of justice in various types of politics under the medieval Islamic political thought, the states and geographies in which these sources were written, the individuals to whom the long form is attributed and their basic elements will be expressed. When viewed from the perspective of the principles that are the theoretical background or basis of the concept, first of all, it will be tried to ground the principles of the long form of the circle of justice, which is a central concept of political thought, and to show how these principles originate from the theory of self, moral philosophy, philosophy of nature, the understanding of the universe and cosmology, and metaphysics, which correspond to the classical cognitive or rational psychology of Peripatetic philosophy, which can be accepted within the framework of Neo-Platonic philosophy. Finally, the long form of the department of justice, the state and social order and structure it is related to, and its importance, meaning and function within this state and social structure and order will be analyzed.
