Notes Supercommentary (footnote) by ʿAbd al-Munʿim Muḥammad al-ʿAṭṭārī (Abdul Moneim Muhammad al-Attari, dates unknown) on a short treatmentise by the physician Fakhr al-Dīn Muḥammad ibn Muḥammad al-Khujandī (Fakhr al-Dīn Muhammad ibn Muhammad al-Khujandi, fl. 14th century) discussing proportions in music. Al-Khujandī's work incorporates a passage on the relationship between the human pulse and musical proportions from the Canon of Medicine (Law in Medicine) by Abū ‘Alī al-Ḥusayn ibn ‘Abd Allāh (Abu Ali Al-Hussein bin Abdullah), known as Ibn Sīnā (Avicenna, latinised as Avicenna, 980-1037). The title of the present work is given on the volume's contents page as Risālat ʿAbd al-Munʿim (Letter of Abd al-Moneim, f. 1r and see reference on f. 156r, line 10). The role of al-ʿAṭṭārī is not mentioned by Shiloah who attributes the text directly to al-Khujandī [Shiloah, Amnon, The theory of music in Arabic writings (c. 900-1900): Descriptive Catalog of Manuscripts in Libraries of Europe and the U.S.A. (Munich: G. Henle Verlag, 1979), pp. 250-51]. The copy was transcribed in Shāhjahānābād (Delhi) on 23 Rabīʻ I 1075/14 October 1664 and collated with the exemplar five days later (see colophon Section at the end of a manuscript text. , f. 156, transcribed below).
