Notes
An abridged copy of a technical treatise on archery, partly in verse, by Taybughā al-Ashrafī al-Baklamishī al-Yūnānī (Taybgha al-Ashrafī al-Baklamishī al-Yūnānī, d. c. 1394, see f. 2, lines 3-5, and f.33v, lines 10-11). The title of the work is given at the end of the introduction (f. 11v, line 11). This undated copy was transcribed by Muḥammad al-Umlayṭī al-Azharī (see f. 223r, line 7, transcribed below).
The text was probably written during the Mamluk Sultan al-Ashraf Shaʻban (reg. 1363-77). The present copy claims the text was written in 770/1368-9 (f. 34r, line 7) and describes it as 'number 247 in the

' (f. 34r, lines 1-2), although these segments of text do not appear in older copies.
