Volume four (Volume Four) of a commentary by Quṭb al-Dīn Maḥmūd ibn Mas‘ūd al-Shīrāzī (Qutb al-Din Mahmud ibn Masoud al-Shirazi; c 1236-1310) on the Colliget (Book of the College), the first book of the Canon of Medicine (The Law in Medicine) by Ibn Sīnā (Ibn Sina, d. 1037). This commentary is also known as The Sa‘dian Gift (The Sa`dian Masterpiece) due to the fact that it was dedicated to Sa`d al-Dīn (Sa`d al-Din), vizier to the Il Khānid sultan Muḥammad Khudābandah Ūljāytū (Muhammad Khādābandah Oljaytū, reg. 1304-16).
The copy was completed 28 Shawwāl 715/25 January 1316 from a manuscript copied 1 Rajab 710/24 November 1310 from the author’s autograph manuscript (see

The fourth volume of Explanation of the Colleges of Law, written by Mahmoud bin Masoud Al-Shirazi
May God grant him a good seal. The Sheikh, may God have mercy on him, said in the ninth chapter on the conditions of medicines
Al-Mashallah. Al-Qurashi said that the wording of this chapter is clear, and we decided to summarize the explanation in an investigation

Here we are, praising God alone, and praying for the one after whom there is no prophet, asking Him to suffice us from the excess of
He speaks out of his own whims and is ignorant of the fact that every person has his own intention, hoping that it will happen from a servant whom he is in attendance upon
His satisfaction, may God grant him what he desires and make it pure for his sake and benefit him in this world and the hereafter
We banished calamities and evil from you, and granted you dignity and happiness. Indeed, He is the Protector of all goodness
And He is the one who does it, and He is sufficient for us, and He is the best disposer of affairs, the best protector, and the best helper
