Anonymous commentary on the didactic poem (Arjoza) on algebra
al-Manẓūmah al-Yāsamīnīyah fī al-jabr wa-al-muqābalah
(The Jasmine system of algebra and contrast) by Abū Muḥammad ‘Abd Allāh ibn Muḥammad ibn Ḥajjāj ibn al-Yāsamīn al-Adrinī al-Ishbīlī (Abu Muhammad Abdullah bin Muhammad bin Hajjaj bin al-Yāsmin al-Adranī al-Ishbīlī, d. 1204).
Commentaries on Ibn al-Yāsamīn's poem were also written by Ibn al-Hā'im (Ibn al-Hā'im, d. 1412, see Delhi Arabic 1901, and edition by al-Jawwād [2005?]), al-Qalaṣādī (Al-Qalasadi, d. 1486, see IO Bijapur 47, ff. 11r-18r), and Sibṭ al-Māridīnī (The tribe of the Mardini, b. 1423, see Stowe 10, ff. 20r-27v, and edition by al-Suwaysī [1983]) but the text of the anonymous commentary contained in the present manuscript is distinct from these other three commentaries. It is, however, identical with that contained in IO Islamic 1490.
The copy was completed in the middle of Jumādá I 1070/end of January 1660 by the scribe ʿAlī ibn Muḥammad ibn al-Ḥasan ibn Zayn al-Dīn al-ʿĀmilī (Ali ibn Muhammad ibn al-Hasan ibn Zayn al-Din al-Amili, see

, f. 114v, line 16-17, transcribed below), who transcribed it from a copy dictated to his great-grandfather Shaykh Zayn al-Dīn (from a copy read to my grandfather, Sheikh Zayn al-Dīn).
The text is followed by a page bearing a copy of Zayn al-Dīn's original reading and audition certificate, mentioning three of the works in the volume (f. 115r).
