Notes An abridgment of Nawawī's A biographical dictionary of illustrative men, chiefly at the beginning of Islam. | Collation: Paper; fol. 60 ; catchwords ; modern foliation in pencil using Western numerals., Description: Rubricated ; MS in fair condition., Layout: 31 lines per page., MS is covered with marginal glosses which together with the seven folios following the colophon contain excerpts from Mirʼāt al-janān of al-Yāfiʻī, 768 [1366]. The remaining two folios contain excerpts from the history of Ibn Shuhbah 779-851 [1377/8-1447/8]. Title page is also full of historic excerpts., Ms. codex., Title from title page (fol. 1a)., Colophon: All of it was transferred from places from Tahdheeb al-Asma’ wa al-Lughat by the scholar Sheikh of Islam Abu Zakaria Yahya al-Nawawi, may God be pleased with him and benefit us with his knowledge, and praise be to God alone. Ended, Incipit: In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
