Notes Autograph copy of the first volume of an Arabic-Persian dictionary arranged alphabetically from alif to sīn and according to the vowel signs fatḥah, kasrah and ḍammah. | Collation: Paper ; fol. 248 + 1 ; catchwords ; modern foliation in pencil using Western numerals., Description: Rubricated ; full vowel signs ; MS in good condition but several folios are worm-eaten and mended. MS is rare., Layout: 19-20 lines per page ; ruled., Marginal and interlinear notes and glosses. Some notes are written on slips of paper and inserted between the folios. On the page before the first and on the folio before that occur a statement that the book was given by Zādah ʻAlī Afandī to the school of Muftīzādah to be kept there, and is dated 1229 [1813/4]; a wise saying; an autograph of an owner; a memorandum of accounts and some writing., Ms. codex., Origin: According to colophon copied 1 Jumādá II 843 by ʻAlī ibn Nuṣrat ibn Dāwūd (fol. 248b)., Title from colophon (fol. 248b)., Colophon: تمت [تم] الجلد الاول من الترجمان بعون الله وحسن توفيقه في اوايل جمادى الاخر سنة ثلث واربعين وثمانمائة على يد العبد الضعيف الفقير الحقير المحتاج الى رحمت [رحمة] الله الغني الکبير علي بن نصرت [نصرة] بن داود الراجون من فضل الله الغني الودود, Incipit: بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم رب تمم با لخير. الحمد لله الذي فضل لسان العرب بالفصاحة | Bound in dark brown leather.
