Notes
ff. 29. 176 x 130; 100 x 80 mm. 13 lin. 14th/15th cen., according to Ḥājjī Khalīfah, Kashf al-ẓunūn, col. 1772 the author is Ibn Ṣaḥnūn al-Dimashqī (d. 694/1294), to whom also the ms. Teheran-Mark. v. 15, no. 5217/14 is attributed, but in both mss. listed in Brockelmann, GAL, S I, 901 (38a) and in ms. Fatih 5411 (Fihrist al-makhṭūṭāt al-muṣawwarah, ch. 6, no. 496) the authorship is ascribed to Sharaf al-Dīn Muḥammad ibn ʻUmar, with the variant Ibn al-Muzza [?] instead of Ibn al-Marʼah., Incomplete at end: the text breaks off in the 7th bāb., Incip.: ... He said... Sharaf al-Din... the one known as the son of a woman.... As for praising God, the Creator of disease and medicine... When I read most of the medical books, I did not find in them anything that heals the heart.
