Notes Arabic addendum written by Âşık Çelebi to Şakāiku'n-Nu'mâniyye. His full name is Zeylü'ş-Şakâiki'n-Nu'mâniyye. Their biographies are listed according to the chronology of the person's date of death. Based on the date of death of the last biography owner, it is understood that it was written after 976 / 1568-69. The work, which falls into the tabakat genre, picks up Şakâik from where Taşköprî-zâde left off, Sultan II. It dates back to the beginning of the reign of Selim (d. 1574). In the work covering eight years, Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent (d. 1566) and Sultan II. There are biographies of forty-three judges, teachers, sheikhs and dervishes who lived during the reign of Selim. Âşık Çelebi praises God for his work and Hz. It begins with blessings and peace upon Muhammad and his companions. Subsequently, he states that Arabs and Persians have many famous and successful scholars, and that there are also very competent, qualified and famous scholars in Anatolia. He mentions Taşköprî-zâde and states that he wrote a work describing the lives of Ottoman scholars. It presents a short biography of Taşköprî-zâde. He continues to give biographies of Ottoman celebrities where he left off. In the biographies, information is given about where the scholars were born, from which teachers they took lessons, in which madrasah they helped or helped whom, for what salary they were appointed to which madrasah, where they worked as professors and judges, when and where they died, their scientific merits, and their positive or negative moral characteristics. While the content of some biographies is narrow, some are relatively detailed. The work structure of Zeyl-i Şakâik is generally the same as Şakâiki. Only at one point was an important addition made to the arrangement of Şakâik-ı Nu'mâniyye. That is, while only biographies are included in Şakâik, important historical developments at the beginning of the layers are also mentioned in Zeyl-i Şakâik. As a matter of fact, this innovation was accepted by the following centuries and pulled the Şakâik-ı Nu'mâniyye tradition from biography to the general history line. The work, which was presented to the Grand Vizier of the period, Sokullu Mehmed Pasha (d. 1579), is important because it is the first Şakaik addendum whose copy exists. The researched text of Zeyl-i Şakâik was published by Abdurrezzak Berekat (2007) in Egypt and by Mehmet Öztürk (2016) in our country. For the biography of the author, see.
