Notes Sünbül Sinan's treatise on the seven levels of the soul. The full name of the work is Risaletün Şerifetün fî Beyani Atvari's-Seb'ati fî Tarikati't-Tasavvûfî ve'z-Zühdi. On the left side of page 14a of the treatise, written in red pen, "our support for this treatise belongs to His Excellency Sünbül Sinan Halvetî." A note was written in Ottoman Turkish, with the date h. The record of 1244 (m. 1828) has been deleted. In the preparation of this article, two manuscript copies of the work were obtained. One of them is registered at Süleymaniye Library, Hacı Mahmud Efendi, number 2835/002. This copy is written in Rika and is located between leaves 6a-11a. The other one is recorded in the National Library Manuscripts Collection, DVD number 1788. In the study, the copy of the work in the National Library Manuscripts Collection was taken as basis. The part of the copy up to page 22a is Sinan Efendi's treatise. On the edge of leaf 14b, Ibrahim b. Some advice from His Excellency Ethem has been added. On leaf 22b, the ruler is left empty, and on the left edge, some characteristics that should be found in Sufi people are written. At the end of the work, there is no record of who and when this copy was written. On the edge of leaf 22a, the characteristics of each of the seven soul levels, such as their rank, course, world, state, arrival, light, place and muini, are written respectively. Sünbül Efendi expresses the reason for the compilation of his work as follows: "I wanted to write a treatise about the state and conditions of the heart of the son of Adam, away from details, in a concise and understandable way, which the seekers can easily read and memorize." (Sünbül Sinan, 14a).  According to Sünbül Sinan, the evidence of seven stages is the verse "Indeed, Allah created you through various stages" (Noah, 71/14) and the hadith of the Messenger of Allah: "I have been commanded to prostrate on seven limbs" (Bukhari, Adhan 133, 134, 137, 138). It is accepted among the people of Sufism that the human heart has seven stages (Sünbül Sinan, 15a).  Another important feature of Sünbül Sinan's treatise is that, while explaining the levels of the soul, he sometimes pairs them with the name of a Prophet and sometimes with the name of a star, and based on these names, he explains the characteristics of that level and the situation of the devotee there. The author draws attention to four general points in each of the seven levels. The first is the name and characteristics of the level, the second is the situation of the person in this level, the third is which prophet this level matches with, the fourth is which star this level matches with and its characteristics. Accordingly, Nefs-i emmâre is the level of Adam, and its star is Kamer (Moon). Nefs-i levvâme is the level of Noah, its star is Utarid (Mercury). Nefs-i mülheme is the level of Yahya, its star is Zuhre (Venus). Nafs-i mutmainne is the level of Idris, its star is the Sun. Nafs-i raziyye is the level of Jesus, its star is Mirrih (Marih). Nafs-i marziyye is the level of Moses, its star is the Customer (Jupiter). The perfect soul is the rank of Ahmed, its star is Zuhal (Saturn). For the biography of the poet, see. "Sünbül, Şeyh Yusuf Sünbül Sinan Efendi". Turkish Literature Names Dictionary.
