Notes A small-volume Persian work containing ghazals, stanzas and mostly rubais by Mehseti, whose real name is rumored to be Munise or Menice. He lived in the palaces of Sultan Mahmud-ı Selçukî (512/1118-525/1131) and Sultan Sencer (511/1118-552/1157) in the first half of the twelfth century. There are 169 rubais, 9 ghazals and 21 stanzas in Mehsetî-i Gencevî's Divan. He also has poems that can be described as eulogies among his rubais. A poem spoken by Sultan Sencer during his time in his parliament can be cited as an example of this genre. There are also hikemi poems in which he gladly accepts his unbearable troubles and purifies his heart from all worldly desires and desires, inclining towards Sufism. The number of poems that are not included in the Poet's Divan and that are stated to belong to him based on reliable sources is extremely high. In addition, the existence of many poems attributed to various authors is also mentioned. This shows that the poet's poems are more than those recorded in his divan. The subjects of Mehsetî-i Gencevî's poems are devotion to life, love for humanity, struggle against injustice against women, rebellion against injustice and philosophical thoughts. Manuscripts of the poems of the world-famous Mehsetî-i Gencevî, whose 900th birthday was celebrated by UNESCO in 2013, are in libraries in Türkiye and around the world. There are. There are a total of fifty-one rubais recorded in the magazines numbered 417 and F-1203 in the Istanbul Library. In the manuscript numbered Fu-587 in the same library, there are five more rubai identified by Hellmut Ritter as belonging to the poet. Mehsetî-i Gencevî's Dîvân was published by Tahirî-i Şihâb (1347). The only study on the work in our country belongs to Asuman Gökhan and Ahad Emirçupani (2009). For the biography of the poet, see.
