Notes
It is the sixth Dîvân of the Collection of Ahmed Ibn Veys, the fourth ruler of the Celayir State. Kitâbu'l-Garbiyyât consists of 2115 couplets. Within the Dîvân, there are 195 ghazals, 23 incomplete ghazals, 1 ode, 3 terci-i bends, 11 mesnevi, 49 poems. There are stanzas, 51 rubais, 117 syllabuses and 6 verses (Değirmençay 2000: 24). In this form, the work looks like a medium-sized divan. In his ghazals, the poet uses the name Ahmed rather than a pseudonym, as well as Ahmed bin Veys, Ahmed-i Veys, Ahmed b. He used names/pseudonyms that showed his lineage, such as Şeyh Üveys. The ghazals in Dîvân mostly consist of 5 to 9 couplets. There are also some with 10 and 15 couplets, albeit few. Ghazals have rhyming features and the influence of Hâfız-ı Şîrâzî (d. 792/1389) can be observed in them. There are also many amorous ghazals that reflect the characteristics of human love. The only ode in the Dîvân is 29 couplets and consists of nasîb, fahriye and prayer sections. The number of clauses of the terci-i clauses under the title of "Tercî'ât" varies between five and ten couplets. Their clauses are five lines and their contents are different from each other. The bends of the second terci-i bend under the title "Tercî'-i Bend Mesnevî der-Tarz-ı Hâs" were written in the form of mesnevi rhyme, and the poet tried to reveal his own style with this. The shortest of the mesnevi is 2 couplets and the longest is 25 couplets. In masnavis, mostly amorous feelings were included and a dirty discourse was expressed. The poems written by the poet in other verse forms have the content determined by tradition and do not have any different characteristics. Veyis Değirmençay prepared a master's thesis on the work (1992), and later this work was published as a book (2000).
